Video Installation Performance Artist
About me
For over a decade, Tiffany Trenda’s work has served as a staple of the Los Angeles performance and video art scene. Tiffany Trenda regularly presents exhibits and events across the Los Angeles, California area, and she has also been featured internationally. Tiffany Trenda studied fine art at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, graduating in 2002. Following her graduation, Tiffany Trenda began an active career as an artist, presenting work across Southern California and in other states. In 2009, Tiffany Trenda returned to her studies, beginning a Master of Fine Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Much of Tiffany Trenda’s art revolves around technology. Tiffany Trenda holds a long-standing curiosity with how new technologies define and change us, and to what extent human beings have fused with inorganic machines. To explore these issues, Tiffany Trenda begins by designing elaborate, digital environments. Utilizing liquid crystal displays (LCDs), cameras, video projectors, and other technology, Tiffany Trenda creates an immersive, visually stimulating space. Subsequently, Tiffany Trenda's work is about identities and human connection through a screen. Past work by Tiffany Trenda has involved live recreations of classic images, such as the video loop piece “Le Grande Odalisque.” In this piece, Tiffany Trenda videotapes herself playing the part of the figure in Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’ classic painting. Similarly, in “Athena and Judith,” Tiffany Trenda superimposes herself into paintings by Gustav Klimt. In her performance art, Tiffany Trenda has often covered her face with digital screens. She has also locked herself in plastic bubbles and created elaborate costumes. Tiffany Trenda has maintained a busy schedule of performance art and exhibitions, including a showing at the World Expo in Shanghai, China, in June 2010.

University of California Los Angeles
From UCLA’s earliest rituals to its most recent ones, students, alumni and friends have been honoring and contributing to Bruin traditions. Some UCLA traditions can be traced to the early 1920s, when the campus was known as the Southern Branch of the University of California. While some of the early traditions have evolved over time and remain strong today, others have faded away.
