Thomas J. Saiz

Thomas J. Saiz, CPA, currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for Grossmont Healthcare District in La Mesa, California. In 1985, Mr. Saiz graduated from National University in San Diego, California with his BBA in Accounting. Since that time, Tom Saiz has exercised his accounting expertise in a variety of professional roles. From 1985 to 1988, Thomas J. Saiz held his first professional accounting position, serving as a Senior Accountant to the American Computer Corporation in San Diego, California. He then spent a year as Staff Internal Auditor for Oak Industries before starting with the Calderon, Jaham & Osborn Accounting Firm in 1989. Tom Saiz spent more than 13 years with this firm, becoming Partner in 1996 and the sole proprietor in December of 2000. Thomas J. Saiz took charge of two offices with approximately $2 million in billings and 25 employees. At the end of 2002, Calderon, Jaham & Osborn was purchased by a large Southern California regional accounting and consulting firm where Thomas Saiz stayed on as Partner for two years. He then spent the following three years working as an independent CPA before accepting his current position as Chief Financial Officer for Grossmont Healthcare District. Thomas J. Saiz has placed a great emphasis on working with government and nonprofit organizations throughout his career. As a result, he was recognized with several distinguished awards. In 1997, the U.S. Small Business Administration named Tom Saiz its Account Advocate of the Year. Subsequent awards have included National University’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998 and San Diego Metropolitan Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2002. Thomas Saiz was also featured in several news editorials for his extensive work and rapid ascent through his career. Currently, Tom Saiz resides in El Cajon, California, and enjoys running and participating in 5k races.
