Accomplished journalist Nichelle Medina began her career with KGNS-TV in Laredo, Texas, where she garnered extensive knowledge and experience in producing, reporting, and anchoring. After serving on-air in Laredo, Nichelle Medina relocated to California to join KGPE-TV in Fresno.<br/><br/>As the morning and noon anchor for KGPE-TV, Nichelle Medina developed a focus on community service. In addition to reporting on local events and people, Nichelle Medina helped to create an award that honored Fresno residents who devoted their time to philanthropic causes. Nichelle Medina herself holds a Golden Bell Award for her humanitarian efforts.<br/><br/>In 2001, Nichelle Medina obtained a position with CBS News 8 in San Diego. For the last nine years, Nichelle Medina has delivered the news at 5:00 A.M., 6:00 A.M., and 11:00 A.M. for KFMB-TV and its sister station, 760 KFMB AM radio. Nichelle Medina is responsible for pursuing, writing, and delivering breaking news stories around the area and has covered a variety of topics, from the southern California wildfires to Blue Angels performances.<wbr/><br/><wbr/><br/>Nichelle<wbr/>Medina earned an Emmy Award in 2007 for her work in covering the San Diego County wildfires. The following year, Nichelle Medina garnered a second Emmy Award for her report on the military jet crash in University City.<br/><br/>In her free time, Nichelle Medina enjoys volunteering with local military causes and animal charities and spending time with her family.
