Dr. Nancy Reye’s primary career focus is medicine, but her abilities extend far beyond just one profession. Currently a physician at Ellettsville Family Practice in Bloomington, Indiana, Nancy Reye began as an economics and business administration major at Kalamazoo College. At Kalamazoo, Nancy Reye enjoyed a fruitful four years, landing a varsity letter in swimming, winning several scholarships and awards, and studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. After graduating with honors, Nancy Reye enrolled at Walsh College. There, she executed her CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam in one try. From 1989 to 1992, Nancy Reye was a CPA at Plante & Moran Public Accountants while simultaneously serving as a Medical Office Clerk. Soon after, Nancy Reye’s path to medicine began, as she volunteered at the William Beaumont Hospital emergency room in Troy, Michigan. In 1994, Nancy Reye enrolled at the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Her four years in medical school were spent working as Regional Coordinator of The National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation. After graduation, Nancy Reye returned to William Beaumont Hospital, where she completed her family practice residency. Nancy Reye then moved to Elk Rapids Family Practice in Elk Rapids, Michigan. At Elk Rapids, Nancy Reye put her knowledge of accounting and medicine to work, overseeing all financial operations and providing full-time patient care. Nancy Reye also exceeded expectations at West Front Primary Care in Traverse City, Michigan, where she was a Board Certified Family Practice Physician and Chief Financial Officer from 2003 until 2006. After West Front, Nancy Reye rejoined the staff at Elk Rapids until May of 2010. Today, Nancy Reye continues practicing in Bloomington, Indiana, and is especially proud of educating youth about proper nutrition and exercise. Nancy Reye is a firm believer in taking preventative measures to avoid health risks, and she is active in sharing this belief with others.
