Dr. James Lauren Hargrove distinguished himself as an undergraduate student in biology with his research on the detection of Giardia lamblia, a parasite found in contaminated drinking water that can infect the small intestine and cause giardiasis, a diarrheal illness. In 1994, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove received a Bachelor of Science from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. During his subsequent four years at the School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Health Sciences University) in Augusta, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove established the nonprofit World Dental Outreach, Inc. As President and Executive Director of World Dental Outreach, Inc., Dr. James Lauren Hargrove founded a free clinic to dispense dental services in downtown Augusta. Upon receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1999, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove became President and Clinic Director of his own private dental practice in Atlanta, Georgia, where he continues to offer proven expertise in restorative, implant, and cosmetic dentistry. Committed to keeping abreast of the latest advances in his field, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove has completed numerous continuing education classes with such accredited providers as the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, Nobel Biocare Services AG, and Perio Institute, Inc. In February 2011, Dr. James Lauren Hargrove began working with Nanston Dental Group and Great Expressions Dental Centers, an alliance of 26 offices located throughout metropolitan Atlanta. Dr. James Lauren Hargrove donates his time as Volunteer Dental Director of Charities for Missionary Dentistry, another dental health care nonprofit that equips free clinics in Africa and Central and South America. When he is not practicing dentistry or volunteering his services, Dr. Hargrove remains active with activities such as scuba diving, hiking, and biking.
