Law enforcement professional James Basinas has 20 years of experience in solving cases, managing department resources, and working with the community. During his five years as Chief of Police and Director of Emergency Management at the Lyndeborough Police Department, James Basinas supervised 10 police officers as well as numerous administrative staff. He managed department budgets and operational expenses, and he worked closely with town officials to control costs. An involved community service advocate, James Basinas was integral to the success of groups such as Neighborhood Watch, Senior Citizen Good Morning Programs, and a Child is Missing Program. James Basinas oversaw officer training to ensure the department had the highest trained staff in areas of criminal apprehension, defensive driving, and other aspects of law enforcement. Chief James Basinas also directed larger operations that required the cooperation with state and federal agencies with his department. A graduate of the 91st New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council, James Basinas began his professional career with the Pelham Police Department in 1990. During the next 11 years, James Basinas received numerous commendations as an Officer and Assistant Shift Commander / Warrant Entry Team. James Basinas received honors for his single-handed capture of an armed felony suspect, and another commendation for his rescuing of a young child through application of CPR. James Basinas’ advanced training and credentials include advanced defensive driving, firearms qualification, first aid, CPR, breath test operation, and hostage negotiations. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council.
