About me

Transitioning from a commercial litigator as a partner in a highly regarded Chicago-based law firm to a successful entrepreneur has kept businesswoman Heidi Frey busy formulating new ideas. Her latest venture, providing attractive adaptors for oversized jewelry, just launched; Heidi Frey’s SizerMizer, Inc., products are expected to hit markets nationwide by third quarter of 2011. Majoring in government and economics at Smith College in Massachusetts, and subsequently completing a Juris Doctorate at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., Heidi Frey spent the first nine years of her career representing businesses, government entities and public utilities at the law firm of Hopkins & Sutter, now merged with Milwaukee-based Foley & Lardner, where she became a litigation partner. Utilizing her background in health care law to develop programs to assist families facing health insurance battles, Heidi Frey founded and served as CEO of the Patient Advocacy Coalition in Englewood, Colorado, and as the Ombudsman for Managed Care for Colorado's Medicaid program. Heidi Frey’s goal was to offer a resource to people denied coverage by their health insurance company for necessary treatments. Heidi Frey became an expert in navigating the appeals process to find non-adversarial solutions. Following her work in advocacy, Heidi Frey accepted the challenge of growing a fledgling medical business called Surgical Concepts, LLC into a nationwide resource for surgeons. As CEO with financial, operations and strategic planning responsibilities, Heidi Frey increased company revenues annually until the business sold in 2009.
