Accomplished surgeon Dr. Marc Mandel, FACS, maintains a busy surgical oncology and general surgery practice based at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Named one of the top surgeons in the country by the Castle Connelly Medical Guide, Dr. Marc Mandel specializes in breast and abdominal cancer surgery. He accepts most major insurance plans and is one of the most in-demand surgeons in the region. Dr. Marc Mandel meets with patients at his office on Mondays and Wednesdays and performs surgery on the other days of the week. When he is not available, Dr. Marc Mandel’s capable and friendly staff are able to answer the vast majority patient questions. <br/>Dr. Marc Mandel holds certifications from the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Marc Mandel is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology and well as the American society of Breast Disease. He additionally is a member of many other local and national medically related societies. Outside of his clinical career, Dr. Marc Mandel has held faculty positions at several institutions. Dr. Marc Mandel was at Yale University School of Medicine in the early 1990s. For the last eighteen years he has been clinical faculty at Columbia University where he has taught resident surgeons extensively. Dr. Mandel has been a frequent speaker at hospital symposia most recently on topics concerning breast and pancreatic cancer. <br/>Dr. Marc Mandel studied fine arts and biochemistry at Brandeis University before beginning his medical career. In addition to his Bachelor of Arts, Dr. Marc Mandel completed a Master of Science in Physiology through Georgetown University before enrolling at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in New York City. Following his primary training, Dr. Marc Mandel held residency positions in New York and Connecticut before accepting his first attending post in 1990. <br/>
