In six years as Associate International Tax Counsel for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, David Ernick earned performance awards, a Special Act Award, and the Kenneth W. Gideon Award for Outstanding Support to the Office of Chief Counsel. David Ernick’s success within the Treasury Department comes not only from his work on trade agreements, tax treaties, and regulatory guidance, but also from his role as a representative at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). David Ernick also frequently speaks at tax conferences on subjects relating to tax laws. <br/><br/>Prior to his tenure with the Treasury Department, David Ernick worked as a Law Clerk for three judges in federal courts and spent several years working for law firms and accounting firms as a Tax Associate. <br/><br/>Immediatel<wbr/>y<wbr/> before joining the Treasury Department, David Ernick served as a Tax Associate for the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in Washington, D.C. David Ernick also served as an Adjunct Professor in Corporate Taxation at George Mason University Law School in Arlington, Virginia, and clerked for Judge Edward Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Montgomery, Alabama. <br/><br/>Earlier in his career, David Ernick clerked for Judge John Dean and Judge Thomas Wells at the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C., and worked as a Tax Associate for the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City. <br/><br/>David Ernick graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Administration from Boston University. Then he earned an MBA from the Boston University School of Management before getting his law degree at Boston College Law School.
