Sae Sohn, MD, works at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. A specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Sae Sohn uses his skill set to teach students in the Center for Reproductive Health. Before entering the medical profession, he laid the foundations for his career with an undergraduate degree in biology from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. After graduating, Dr. Sae Sohn immediately entered Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1988. From 1988 to 1990, Dr. Sae Sohn undertook a general surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York. Pursuing his desire to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), he took his talents to the Medical College of Georgia to complete an additional residency in the field. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Sae Sohn completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Tufts-New England Medical Center, where he focused on the health of the endocrine system, the system of glands responsible for hormone production and release. While completing his fellowship, Dr. Sae Sohn also served as an Instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine. In his current position, Dr. Sae Sohn shares his talents as a physician with many in the UCSF community. For five years, he has consulted on advanced surgeries involving microscopic tubal reanastomosis. He has also volunteered his time to teach in the OB/GYN Department of the Center for Reproductive Health and served as a mentor for third-year medical students in their OB/GYN rotations at nearby Marin General Hospital. Over the course of his career, Dr. Sae Sohn has garnered a number of awards for his medical expertise. In 1992, for example, he earned an Outstanding Teacher award from the Medical College of Georgia. Almost a decade later, Dr. Sae Sohn received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology at UCSF.<br/>
