About Ronald Federici
Dr. Ronald S. Federici laid the groundwork for his successful professional career through his notable academic achievements. Possessing two Master's degrees, Dr. Federici earned dual Doctorates from the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1985. One year later, Dr. Ronald Federici founded Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates, where he serves as Clinic Director and Supervisor to this day. Dr. Federici is the country's leading Developmental Neuropsychologist and specializes in nationally and internationally adopted children, particularly post-institutionalized orphans. Dr. Federici's innovative work on patients suffering from severe trauma, attachment disorders, learning problems, deprivation, neglect, and violent and/or unmanageable behaviors has led to critical acclaim on a global scale. Dr. Ronald Federici is a Diplomate of a number of prestigious psychology and neuropsychology groups, including the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABPN), the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists (ABMP), and a Fellow in Advanced Psychopharmacology (FICPP). Dr. Federici serves as an Assistant Professor of Child Development at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Furthermore, Dr. Federici is a staff Neuropsychologist for Mount Vernon Hospital and Dominion Hospital. Dr. Federici is additionally licensed as both a school psychologist and a clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. Dr. Ronald Federici's extensive research and personal experience (as the father of 7 internationally adopted children) led Dr. Federici to write "Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families (With Special Discussion for Assessing and Treating the Post-Institutionalized Child)," in addition to a number of other articles that have been featured in esteemed publications like The Washington Post, Time Magazine, and The New York Post. Dr. Ronald Federici resides with his family in Virginia.
