Passionate about leading his fellow Christians in worship, Pastor Shawn Baker has spent most of his adult life in the Southern United States. Graduating from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Pastor Shawn Baker later moved to Middlesboro, Kentucky, to become the Senior Pastor of Faith Temple Church. In this role, Pastor Shawn Baker performs traditional duties, including Sunday services, weddings, and funerals, and is also responsible for the fiscal and personnel management of the church. Pastor Shawn Baker’s nearly six years at Faith Temple Church marks a successful time for the church’s community. Through numerous outreach programs, particularly youth-focused ministries, Pastor Shawn Baker has grown the church to two campuses and increased its revenue by half. In 2008, the Abundant Life Fellowship Church, a historic church in downtown Middlesboro, elected to merge with Faith Temple Church, expanding the church’s membership and its ability to reach the Middlesboro community. Faith Temple Church has been recognized for its charitable outreach to the community, particularly through a multi-faceted effort called Transformation Appalachia. The centerpiece of the Transformation Appalachia ministry was its Faith Pack program, which provided healthy food to underserved school children who might not otherwise receive proper nutrition during the weekends. Pastor Shawn Baker was instrumental in the development of this program, which aimed to expand to three school districts. Pastor Shawn Baker and the Faith Temple Church community have also hosted Thanksgiving dinners for families in need, conducted services for prison inmates, and visited church members in the hospital.
