James Kosta

With over a decade of experience in video game software design and programming, 3G Studios, Inc. founder and CEO James Kosta recently launched the first ever 3D first-person shooter game developed for the Facebook platform. From 1989 to 1993, James Kosta studied computer science and psychology at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Throughout the 1990s, James Kosta earned a solid reputation in the software design industry, contracting with leading firms such as Microsoft Corporation, Dell, Disney, and Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.C. In 2002, James Kosta launched 3G Studios, Inc. as an innovative video game developer dedicated to adopting many of the best practices of well-established software companies. When designing games, James Kosta stresses proper data collection, testing, and reporting. In this way, James Kosta ensures engaging products that stand up to repeated play. James Kosta has developed a string of successful video games since 2005, when he designed and programmed Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers for multiple gaming platforms. In 2006, James Kosta and the 3G Studios team partnered with MTV in developing the poker game Stacked with Daniel Negreanu for the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). The game utilizes an innovative artificial intelligence system that adapts to players' styles. James Kosta innovated further with Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, working extensively with the celebrity trainer to create a Wii fitness experience that interfaced with a Wii Balance Board and reflected her personal style of training. With the introduction of the Facebook-based Brave Arms, James Kosta positioned 3G Studios, Inc. as a pioneering online social games publisher. James Kosta envisions Brave Arms as the first of several visually exciting Facebook and mobile platform games. James Kosta gives back to his community by coaching troubled teens and donating to organizations like the American National Red Cross.
