About Ervil Spencer
Investment banker and CPA Ervil Spencer graduated from New York's Pace University summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in 1990 and successfully completed the CPA exam during his final semester in college. Ervil Spencer took his first post-graduate position with public accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. As a Senior Accountant in the Securities Industry Group, Ervil Spencer performed audits for several of the company's top clients, reporting on the effectiveness of their internal controls and corresponding with executive managers.
After serving with Deloitte & Touche, Spencer attended Harvard University Graduate School of Business. He earned his MBA in 1995 and joined the High Yield Originations & Capital Markets Group at TD Securities in New York. In the following five years, Ervil Spencer assisted clients in raising over $12 billion in capital in the high yield bond market. He also advised clients on debt restructuring transactions that affected over $4 billion in debt. He focused on industries such as media, telecom and general industrials.
In 2000, Ervil Spencer began working with New York's UBS Warburg, LLC. As a Director in the Leveraged Finance and Global Industrials groups, Spencer continued to originate and execute high yield bond deals with clients in a variety of sectors. He raised $1.6 billion in capital for clients. He left UBS Warburg in 2002 and founded consulting firm CS Financial Advisors in 2003.
Ervil Spencer served as CEO of CS Financial Advisors for three years, providing consulting services to non-resident U.S. taxpayers. He assisted clients with complex tax treaty issues, establishing his specialized firm as a successful niche player in its field.
TD Securities sought Ervil Spencer's expertise for the second time in 2007, recruiting him as a Director of Investment Banking. He developed business relationships with private equity and corporate clients, yielding a strong pipeline of business. He was instrumental in helping the firm develop its data center banking practice.
