Dr. Carole Lane has earned distinction by receiving an American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education and has published research papers in association with the Center for Disease Control. A proud member of the American Association of Dermatology and the American Society of Echocardiography, Dr. Lane is also a Fellow in the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Carole Lane obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she graduated Cum Laude and received Minors in Math and Chemistry while working her way through college. Carole went on to study Medicine at University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, graduating in the top quarter of her class. After receiving her M.D., Dr. Lane began her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. She studied in the Heart Station for three months and was trained as an Echocardiographer. Following her studies in Internal Medicine, she remained at the University of Alabama Medical Center to become Director of Cardiopulmonary Services for Monroe County Hospital. Dr. Carole Lane is a practicing Dermatologist and Vice President of The Lane Medical Group. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the skin, scalp, hair, and nails. A large part of her practice is the identification and surgical excision of skin cancers. She has 18 years of experience as an Echocardiographer and is fully capable of interpreting Cardiac Echocardiography, heart disease, and vascular ultrasound studies. In her community, Dr. Lane is known for being very charitable and giving. She performs several free skin cancer screening clinics per year and often takes food to disadvantaged families in the area. She is also an active member at her local church, participating in the Sanctuary Choir. In her off time, Dr. Lane enjoys being a private pilot, traveling and spending time with her family.
