David Zarett

After an accomplished career as a commercial real estate broker and developer in Seattle, Washington, David Zarett has shifted his focus to sustainable design and building a strong foundation in philanthropy and volunteerism. David Zarett began his career as a commercial real estate broker in Los Angeles, California. In 1992 David Zarett relocated to Seattle and formed Zarett Properties, a self-owned development firm. Among Zarett Properties’ countless endeavors, the three-year conversion of the former Diamond Ice & Storage Co. plant and the 2007 sale of the Cobalt Building for $20 million, has cemented David Zarett’s firm as an major player in the Pacific Northwest real estate development community. Despite his success David Zarett remains grounded and feels a personal responsibility to give back to his community. Zarett’s favorite nonprofit organizations include United Way of King County, the American Red Cross, the Boys and Girls Club, and Camp Korey. David Zarett is also a hands-on volunteer for groups benefiting at-risk youth and the homeless. In his spare time, David Zarett is an avid traveler and student of foreign culture. David Zarett also has a great appreciation of literature, including the works of Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and Ayn Rand. David Zarett enjoys activities such as tennis, basketball, and golf. Zarett Properties is a member of the Association of Washington Business. David Zarett attended Southern Oregon State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
