As a member of the Credit Research Foundation, David Gotterup believes the pursuit of knowledge and professional development contribute to success in business. As an entrepreneur, David Gotterup owns and runs a mortgage lending institution based in Garden City, New York. David Gotterup oversees 45 employees, most of whom function as customer service representatives and sales agents. Outside of sales management, David Gotterup focuses on business development and credit analysis. At his firm, he and the team counsel homeowners facing foreclosures or loan modifications, seeking to find an appropriate solution for each situation. Before becoming a mortgage lender, David Gotterup attended SUNY College at Oneonta. While studying in the economics program, David Gotterup maintained a 3.6 grade point average and completed his degree with magna cum laude honors. A member of the American Association of Bank Directors, David Gotterup networks with other peers in his profession and strives to uphold the group’s values of information, education, and advocacy. David Gotterup also belongs to America's Community Bankers Council, which focuses on leadership and advocacy for local banks, and educates the public about the positive aspects of community banking. Through membership in professional organizations, David Gotterup monitors current banking trends and continues to grow as a financial professional. Community involvement remains an important aspect of David Gotterup’s personal life. David Gotterup volunteers at the Center for Urban Community Services and makes regular donations to Have a Heart Children's Cancer Society and St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. In addition, in his free time, he enjoys reading the works of motivational speakers, such as Tony Robbins and Les Brown. David Gotterup also pursues outdoor activities, including hiking and hunting.
