Pursuing a wide range of career-related, personal, and charitable commitments, military and security professional Charles Hoelzel maintains a balanced and holistic lifestyle. While serving as a soldier under U.S. Navy SEALS units, Charles Hoelzel attended school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. A correspondent student from September 1984 to June 1988, Charles Hoelzel split his time between various tactical missions and academic efforts, ultimately earning his B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After additional tours of duty with the Navy SEALS and the United States Marine Corps through Panama, the Persian Gulf, Somalia, the Balkans, and elsewhere, Charles Hoelzel reclaimed his civilian status and launched a variety of careers in a diverse array of businesses. A longtime employee of NASCAR-related concerns, Charles Hoelzel returned to the security industry on the eve of the second Iraq war. Charles Hoelzel has since worked for such military contractors as DynCorp International, BH Defense, and Muse Pro Group in numerous executive roles. Holding memberships with ASIS International and the Private Security Companies Association Iraq (PSCAI), Charles Hoelzel maintains the proper credentials and brings continued knowledge and expertise to his work. A generous figure in the community, Charles Hoelzel regularly contributes time, energy, and resources to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, UNICEF, and the American Cancer Society. In his free time, Charles Hoelzel keeps fit by swimming and playing baseball, football, fast-pitch softball, and golf. Charles Hoelzel also enjoys fishing, hunting, scuba diving, and skydiving. An avid reader and member of MENSA, Charles Hoelzel counts numerous celebrated authors among his favorites, including Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Vladimir Nabokov, Marcel Proust, Gustave Flaubert, and Ernest Hemingway. In addition, Charles Hoelzel stays in touch with fellow veterans through associations with the American Legion, VFW, the Marine Corps League, and the UDT-SEAL Association
