Entrepreneur and translator Caroline Brooker is the bearer of an MA in Foreign Languages and Literatures from Washington State University and a BA in Spanish and a Certificate in Multilingual Business and Government Studies from Temple University. Caroline Brooker also holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and she has demonstrated her skill as a businesswoman by steering Philadelphia's Avante Language Services’ unprecedented growth for the last 13 years. Established in 1997, Avante Language Services began as a small company whose dedicated staff offered ESL classes for Brazilian and Russian immigrants and instruction for travelers and those with a casual interest in learning a new language. However, Caroline Brooker was able to expand Avante Language Services almost immediately, based on an overwhelming need to accommodate immigrants as well as a rising general interest in other cultures. Caroline Brooker and Avante Language Services began offering lessons and services in Arabic, Pashto, Farsi, and other languages.
