Throughout her life and career, the artist Ana Tzarev has cultivated an interest in foreign culture and issues of international importance. Growing up in Croatia during and after World War II, Ana Tzarev saw first-hand the crises experienced throughout Eastern Europe and endured many hardships throughout her early years. The challenges in her early years have given Ana Tzarev a great empathy and respect for individuals dealing with injustice and the effects of war, poverty, and disease. Many of her paintings give audiences a unique view of individuals and families in Africa, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, and elsewhere, capturing their daily lives with bright, exultant colors to convey both strength and hope. In September 2010, Ana Tzarev will bring her work to Vietnam for a solo exhibition at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, celebrating the Hanoi Millennium. The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum exhibition showcases the actual paintings that were used as the basis of the design Ana Tzarev created for a 30-meter section of the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Wall. The Wall will also be unveiled as part of the Millennium celebrations.
