One of Florida’s premiere film development and production companies, Pamplin Film Company launched in 1994 in order to provide meaningful entertainment to movie lovers around the world. The namesake for Pamplin Film Company, Rick Pamplin, directed Oscar-winner Ernest Borgnine in the feature film Hoover. Mr. Pamplin was later honored when his name appeared on the Oscar and DGA ballots for Best Director. Another Pamplin production, Michael Winslow Live, was recognized by the Academy of Family Films and Television as an "Outstanding Cinematic Achievement." Magic 4 Morons, a video teaching magic with Michael Winslow of Police Academy fame and magician Lyndel, received the "President's Award of Excellence" from the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 170.
Pamplin Film Company and Rick Pamplin are currently involved with three films: Crimebusters, City of God, and A Beautiful Life. Each film is unique and touches on a different aspect of the human experience. Crimebusters is a comedy geared toward the adolescent set, City of God is a more introspective piece that adapts St. Augustine's classic tome to the screen, and A Beautiful Life discusses faith and consequences in a morally ambivalent world.
Pamplin Film Company has been a member of several Floridian institutions, including the Citrus Club; Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Inc.; Enzian Theater, Inc.; the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association; and the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce.
