President G. Mark Hamby entered Capitol Securities Management in 2006 from Anderson & Strudwick, Inc., where he was president and CEO. Hamby joined Chairman and CEO Joseph A. Jianos and several other knowledgeable and reputable associates, sharing a common objective to make Capitol Securities Management the most dependable name in investment services. Under this leadership, Capitol Securities Management has grown into a respected regional investment firm Capitol Securities Management continues to welcome experienced professionals into its structure, increasing total sales force by 25 new employees and associates in 2006. Dave Shenton and Troy Baldridge entered Capitol Securities Management as senior vice presidents and directors of managed investments in 2007. Like Hamby, Capitol Securities Management recruited Shenton and Baldridge from Anderson & Strudwick, where they headed departments in funds and annuities, and conducted financial advisory services. In 2008, Capitol Securities Management hired Jay Donlin as COO of the company. Donlin held similar roles at both Scott & Stringfellow/BB&T and Anderson & Strudwick, and gained experience in clearing, technology, and operations at Wheat First/Union/Wachovia Securities. In the same year, Capitol Securities Management appointed Lia Goff as CFO, who spent many years as controller of the independent brokerage group at Wachovia Securities. 2008 also saw the addition of Kent Engelke as chief economic strategist to Capitol Securities Management.
