What is the Opaque Value Problem?
Everyone has their own social values, social lives, and thus, their own social network. And to cater to the growing needs of each person to keep in touch with their group of friends and known people we have a plethora of social networks as Twitter, Orkut, Facebook, and so on. But the challenge is to find real business value...
Most
social software is built around providing personalized,
socially-focused conversation. Such software is person-centered, and as
a result, it is very difficult for anybody but that person to really
appreciate the posts: the value becomes opaque in this way: 'opaque
value problem'.
